It wasn't perfect, but I believe it's my favorite adaptation yet! I just watched it for a second time and it was so good. The casting was incredible!

I have one episode left and I agree, it's very good! It took me a while to adjust to some of the darker themes, but I think it's balanced with a good amount of humor.

How does it hold up to the one with Megan Follows?

I love the 1985 one, I grew up watching it, so I'll always appreciate that one.

This new one has a markedly different tone, I think, and veers off a bit from the original story in some places, in order to flesh out the characters and add to the plot. So it's hard for me to directly compare the two. I think the Megan Follows one is more directly faithful to the source novel, but the new one is a worthy reinterpretation of the story, beautifully shot, and worth watching.

Me too! And I haven't seen anything in quite some time that spoke to my girlie-girl side story-wise. I'm looking forward to this! Thank you!

Didn’t even know about this new series until I just saw it in the trending section. But I thought that the 1980’s version with Megan Follows was pretty good, so maybe I’ll check this one out some time. I heard that the 1970’s BBC version of Anne of Green Gables was also pretty good.

Just saw all 7 episodes. Loved it,,,except for the end.. will they do a second season?

S2 now released and it truly is a gem in the Netflix menu. I'm still waiting for that headmaster to get his comeuppance.

Have to say I am not crazy about it so far.. Ive watched 3 or 4 episodes only. Anne is very annoying this season. Its like noone else can talk. Shes too exuberant in a sense. Finally she became aware of Mathews feelings when she wrote the letters, so that redeemed her. She needs a zanax, lol

Unfortunately the headmaster did not get his just dessert. His bride walked away BUT I would have loved someone to punch his face! He was such an evil creep!

It was a great show indeed. Agree it has some flaws but its very good to watch
