Other than sharing character names it looks nothing like the Archie strips to me.

The more I hear about this project, the more curious I am to at least check out the pilot when it airs. This could either be a bit of soapy, overblown fun, and the kind of surreal suburbia-lite to hold us over until the real thing (Twin Peaks), or it will be a total mess and fade into obscurity, only resurfacing in about twenty years in one of those "What Were They Thinking?" retrospectives.
