Just call it 'Teen Peeks'

The mood! The music! The murder!

This is Riverdale re-imagined as "Twin Peaks". Even casting Madchen Amick (while I have nothing against her) is a bit too much on the nose.

The "teen" cast (these 'kids' are so obviously not 16) is uniformly good looking, but the acting chops vary (to choose a word) dramatically. This could be the fault of the actors, the direction they were given, the character outlines they were working from, or any combination. Time will tell on that score.

Luke Perry is not a bad actor, but seems terribly miscast in his role as Archie's dad. Madchen Amick as Betty's mom isn't given much to work with as a mean-girl wannabe. The Betty/Veronica relationship looks like an interesting dynamic. Miss Grundy looks much more like a teacher every teen boy would be thrilled to have to look at two semesters than the comics version did. (Shock!).

And will we ever get to hear Moose utter his famous "duh"?

I don't see this show surviving.

I do. I dont think the CW will give up on it without a fight

It is very Twin Peaks-y, which is what I found interesting. The Archie comics aspect seems silly, and I could do without it.

This Archie just seems so empty and dull. Like I'm not even sure if he's completely human, he acts like a robot that is learning to be human.
