Why Was The Older Daughter Recast?

I think was Johnny Sequoyah. She was listed in the opening credits and it looked like her.

Shows are often retooled after getting feedback on the pilot. They clearly hadn't fleshed out an interesting character yet, and once they did probably realized that she wasn't a good fit.

Hopefully they changed a lot more than just that. That was a really bad pilot. Hard to believe the show got picked up based on that.

I am curious about this as well. I guess they didn't click with her. I thought she was fine in the role. But she was hardly in it. They concentrated too much on the weird youngest child.

Blue Bloods did the same thing with the daughter of the lead actress. They did have the good sense to send the character away for a few eps before the replacement came in. Many probably forgot what the first actress looked like. Interestingly enough they also replaced the detective's partner on the show. But this time they couldn't hide it since the first partner was a black male and the second one was a white female who then was replaced by a latina female.
