What did you think about the hue/color-tone of this series?

Was wondering what people though about the unusual color-tone/hue this series was filmed with. It certainly gave things a more somber, chilling look, yet I kind of liked it. To get technical, I would describe it as "partially desaturated".... if you're familiar with Photoshop, you can tone down the "saturation" on an image, which removes the color and makes it "grayer" looking. (You can also up the saturation and make the colors extra vibrant and loud). This looked to me as though it was desaturated by about 50%... so that it was sort of halfway in between black & white and color. With perhaps a subtle balance towards the green & blue part of the spectrum. It does make me wonder how it would have looked had it been filmed in normal color tone... would those more vibrant colors, especially in the many outdoor/nature scenes, have somehow detracted from the story? Curious what other people think about this.

It’s an riff on the bleach bypass effects used in film occasionally, now overused digitally IMO. I spent a chunk of my life in darkrooms lol. Where I thought it worked was in Payback (1999) to give an overall noir era look and feeling. Mostly it was used in day for night effects. The fact you noticed it says something. I believe there are plugins now, I’m still looking for a better kelvin based one.

It's the same thing Catherine Hardwick did with the first Twilight movie. Personally, I love the way it looks, but I get that it's kind of a "cheap" move. I thought it worked really well in Eyewitness to make everything seem bleak, hopeless, and lonely.
