Why does SciFi keep throwing this movie at us?

Saturday afternoon, i switch on the TV, which is always tuned to SciFi and lo and behold, Magellan, again, the most boring movie ever conceived, not to mention extremely illogical, poorly done and doesn't even have an actual ending.
Seriously, they could've at least put on Sharknado so we can have a good laugh.
