I've notice that this documentary is going to be shown on Sky Arts in the UK first, starting 21st June, can anyone leave a comment it of how good it is.

We're up to episode 6 in Australia...I literally write this into my calendar each week...to me, it's that good. It's like a mashed-up history of modern music production. Each episode Is loosely based around the impact of various technology (microphone, 4-track, electric guitar, sampling) and includes an array of musicians and producers talking, plus heaps of music clips. It's not genre-based so I imagine it would appeal to most music lovers. It's definitely given me an appreciation for the amazing work of producers. Rick Rubin stands out. One ep covered the path from gospel-soul-funk-disco-edm, tonight was about the birth of rap. Another ep highlighted the album rivalry of beach boys vs Beatles. Always fascinating. I will be sad when it ends. Three thumbs up.

Absolutely must watch. Just watched latest episode in series. Dedicated to the evolution of the recording format. Covers from cylinders to on line streaming, with commentary by a whole list of artists/writers/producers/engineers

Agreeing 100% with Little_Maggie!

I've been telling all my music enthusiast friends about it. Saw the Beatles on Sullivan when I was just 5 y/o and I haven't looked back since. I LOVE every bit of info in this series.

I recorded most and have watched two out of order and can't wait to have some time to sit and watch 'em all. Then I'll be headed to a used vinyl store to buy Miles Davis and Frank Sinatra.
