Cochise remarks

1. Why didn't they get a warrant to search Francise's house and use luminol to find blood traces back in 1991, or whatever year Francise confessed to killing him? (Yes, there was luminol in existence then.)

2. Why didn't they interview the cleaning lady and the ex-wife back then?

3. Do they even know yet if it is Cochise's body in the barrel?

4. If they do find blood, how can they link it to Cochise?

5. They seem to have deputies doing forensic tests; isn't this supposed to be a small county? Wouldn't things like testing the inside of a gun for blood be better processed by sending it to a forensics lab?

If these things were explained, I missed it. Only one I can think of an answer for is 2, because the witnesses would have been afraid to talk. But Francise is still around today, so why are they talking now?
