In a major misstep they actually have him kill a guy. Who approved that? You really don't want to ruin sympathy for your main character like that.

sharethere's nothing dark about the comedy if you don't go there. it's about wanting to but not being able to for various reasons. that's the point. he leads a dual life with this absurd tug of war. you lop off half the show otherwise. will he succeed? who will find out? what will happen if/when they do? that's all gone without his other life. the misstep would be to avoid that tension and all the interesting directions that come from it.

shareYeah, me and everyone who kept watching after the 3rd episode of a series already renewed for a 3rd season. This "major misstep" seems to be working just fine with critics and viewers. Approval of everything you see was received long ago when HBO greenlit the show. I can understand someone not liking the premise, but I find it odd to expect something else from the premise. It's the "dark" in dark comedy.
