I’ll finish it out, but I’m leaning towards cancel. Decent idea, poor execution. But simply put - it’s just simply not good. Every character is insufferable and they can all DIAF for all I care (except for Fonzie - he’s the bright spot).
shareI will gladly look forward to more episodes. The writing is incisive, the characters work well (even the intentionally annoying ones), and the show presents the world of struggling actors in a fair way while mocking it at the same time.

shareIt's been renewed for another season. Vinyl was not. Despite what you or I may think about the show, it has definitely found an audience, and HBO feels confident enough based on that to order another batch of episodes.

It definitely turned a corner that I wasn't expecting. It's strange because it feels like he's a character we're supposed to root for, but they put him down a path beyond redemption. At least the kind of redemption that would allow him to live happily ever after.
It got better as it went and ended really high. Plus, HBO tends to give shows a chance. It will get at least another season.

At the time yes. If you read the whole thread I had come back to say that by the finale I enjoyed the show. It’s still not a *great* show though. But I agree that a S2 is warranted now. It just needed to warm up. I felt that way with “Kidding” as well which blew me away by the end.
