Modern Day Tales From The Crypt

I thought it was actually really rather well acted (Good old Michael Ironside always gives a great menacing performance), directed and the stories apart from the Icelandic Zombie one were very good.

I especially liked the second one "clingfilm man" - the guys mouth was incredibly disturbing , i dont know if anyone else noticed that but that was one big scary gob full of teeth like a piano lol and Alfie Allen was superb in the role despite what all Lily Allens brothers detractors might say - whether that is because he had been smoking grass before he went filming i dont know but he passed off the humourless American/British Psycho rather well and the story was gripping and intriguing.

The whole thing gripped the viewer all the way through but as the main reviewer has pointed out the ending was really weak and done before a million times.

I had expected Michael Ironside to turn out to be the devil much like the original Tales From The Crypt or even a more ingenious twist in the tale but it had a generic ending much like the other oldie Asylum (1972) but not even half as good - In fact it could be a direct copy of the original except for the characters stories.

Could have been a 7/10 but the end let it down badly , so only a 6/10 from me.

More like the Amicus classic "Asylum" 1972, an obvious influence.
