JL Ranch was cast so well. Budget restricted, no doubt. I want more.

JL Family Ranch was great to watch, for me. What a cast. And because of the cost of prime players, the movie was not as rich as it could have been. But, I thought it was shot beautifully. Talk about rich cinematography on the wide shots, wow. JL Family Ranch's most fun part was watching the storyline of Terri Pollo. She and Sheriff Whitlock made me tingle. And I want much more of actor Donovan's Brady-character's story. He's performance was rich and so layered that I was left hoping I could get more of Brady's story.
Audience of this JL Family Ranch who were disappointed, are complicated viewers who are spoiled by crazy, whip lash, storylines and convulsed characters that litter the screens of today.
My advice: Slow down and enjoy a rose for being just a rose.

There were too many plots that couldn't be fleshed out enough. Left hanging with so many questions.

I've read here that this movie has already been approved for a sequel.

If Teri Polo will be back, I'm in. She elevates any material she's given. I didn't see any chemistry between her and Henry, but I liked seeing her complicated relationship with Lynn.

But, I thought it was hot, the play by the Sheriff (Grant Bowler) and Polo. The writers gave us Terri Polo and Grant Bowler(Sheriff) to let us follow the clues for the legal ending. Actually, Grant Bowler's Sheriff is THE one to watch, throughout the movie, to see how he worked out the legal pieces for an ending that gives the ranch some room.

Who is Lynn?

reply

Rebecca's (Teri Polo) daughter.

Thank you. Yes, that's the actress I meant.

Ugly? That is harsh and an ugly statement to make about anyone!

It was shot in La Grange, KY. Funny enough, I never knew Kentucky had that good of surroundings until I was an extra in it and saw the locations myself.

THERE IS NOTHING TO FEAR. COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS HERE!!!

Agree! I loved it! Especially the casting. The more I see Jon Voight, in current stuff, the more I want to see him. As in Ray Donovan. He has really gained my appreciation! And James Caan, I forgot was even in it. He did his role so well, I never knew it was him, until reading a couple of reviews here, blasting both of these actors. Again, I really liked it. Not sure if there's enough left to continue, but maybe. Like the "Jessie Stone" series, they just keep going, and have become a favorite for me.
