Did they steal/rip-off the trailer soundtrack or is it under fair use?

Because the background music of the trailer really sounds like "Tank" from Cowboy Bebop.

I'm just inquiring. I don't have much knowledge on copyright laws so factual statements would be welcome.

Yaaaaa, um, I really don't think whoever owns the rights to that Cowboy Bebop OST is going to be going after some Indian film because the music sounds similar. But most likely they got the rights for dirt cheap anyway or for free.

If anything they may be happy as it might bring more listeners to the music or viewers to the show.

Who knows, but it is for sure the same song. Even the bass line is the same.
