I watched the whole thing


That's saying something. It was compelling enough to make me want to see how it turns out at the end.

The only reason 'Amityville' is in the title is to draw on the name. It has nothing to do with the DeFeo murders or with the subsequent haunting.

On that level, it's annoying as it's an obvious ploy.

The idea of a mass sacrifice to an evil entity (in this case, the house) isn't a bad premise. They should have left the Amityville name off of the film and tried a bit harder to work on that aspect.

Horror fans are hard to please and there are a lot of us. We're a loyal bunch too... will watch anyone's garbage in hopes of some redeeming factor.

If Hollywood actually figures us out and offers us something to sink our teeth into they'll have friends for life.
