The Sleepover episode (1.04) *spoiler*

I'm halfway through the episode. This is one of the more difficult episodes to watch, I feel - watching Alison get so excited and hopeful about her son's "breakthrough" knowing that his symptoms are only being affected by his fever.

I remember seeing the same thing in my own son when he was Joe's age - but I remember thinking that it had to be somehow related... my son's autism is not severe (Asperger's), and he communicates relatively well... so it would be more like, he's calmer, he's more aware, more articulate. Maybe thinking he was having a "good day", not necessarily like he was having a breakthrough moment. But the pattern would happen again when the fever would hit. It's fascinating, and hopefully it will lead to research that will help people on the spectrum... but again, I feel bad seeing how hopeful Alison is and knowing that she will be confused when it doesn't "stick".
