tonight's episode

Whatever tonight's episode was; it was NOT the x files.

reply

Yes it was.

reply

yea i agree. this islamofascist *beep* has no place on the x-files. this is not what i look forward to when i wait a week for a new episode - i want to see either monster-of-the-week episodes or episodes that tie into the mainstoryline. i am not interested in the realities of islam.

reply

X-Files have always involved current hot-topics (politicized or not, and politics is very integral to the main storyline itself... more so than the MOTW), and islamophobia is a very real topic, as is terrorism. This is very much what X-Files is, and it some funny elements too, and showed us how Scully and Mulder have changed since the beginning.

reply

Seemed like they were introducing the new Scully & Mulder characters for the continuation series. The honky tonk mushroom trip was unforgivable though.

reply

Who was the girl who played the "new" Scully? Anyone know? She looked very familiar. Thanks.

reply

That was Lauren Ambrose- she was in Six Feet Under

reply

Thank you tandm_ for your answer.
I knew she looked familiar. 😃

reply

I agree. It was horrible, not funny, and a ridiculous liberal/PC attempt to humanize Islamic terrorists. LAME. And the new characters sucked too.

Bring back the XFiles please.

MUSH ROOM

BIG FAIL

It was the weakest episode. And for the poster above who hated the new characters - yeah, I just now thought of Poochie from the Simpsons.

The episode with the were-human who was a gentle lizard creature in his "normal" state? Hilarious and vintage X-Files.

"We want the finest wines available to humanity. We want them here and we want them now."

Yes! Loved that one. Gave Duchovny a chance to be funny, which he's very good at. And the actor playing the monster-turned-human dressed by Darren McGavin was great, too.

reply

That was NZ's own Rhys Darby, quite a funny guy. You might have seen him on Flight of the Conchords?

Pissorf

reply

They humanized muslims, not Islamic terrorists. And whether you like it or no terrorists are human i.e they are not a cow. They aren't born with a suicide vest strapped to them and a desire to kill. It's not ridiculously liberal (the US misuse of the word liberal pains me, no definition of liberal means what you think it means).

reply

i'm going to agree on that one.

I need closure. finish the alien arc!

Amen.

reply

To me, it was one of the best episodes of any series I've seen. And it was extremely much the literal metaphor of what X Files should be.

An applaud to the producers.

reply

Terrible, wasn't it?

but I loved the one with the monster turned human.
