Was I watching a drama or a cartoon?

Everything about the Michigan storyline was comically over the top.

I want to like this show, but it's kinda low brow at the moment.

Seriously 18 hours in and a state basically declares independence...

The WA police start harassing the first brown guy they see...

If Trump wins what was happening in Michigan will happen all over the country.

As for the Washington police harassing the first brown guy, that stuff happens all the time, do you not follow the news?

reply

I'm not arguing politics here. You'll need to find someone else to fight with about Trump. As for the rest, no it doesn't that's just the current story pushed as part of the "Everyone is racist, so you should vote for us" narrative.

Please educate yourself and watch something other than CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NBC.......Seriously the unfounded propaganda you people spew is getting boring. All of the Islamic extremist terror attacks have happened on Obama and Clinton's watch.

reply

Except for 9/11. That was on Bush's watch.

On paper the USA has a contingency in place if 99% of the government collapses, but the reality of what happens is another story. I don't know how over the top it is though. Maybe not Michigan first, but someone would. Trump is already calling for similar measures just not as extreme and there has been no massive attack in the USA for 15 years. (A few smaller ones...)

As for the police racially profiling, IT HAPPENS NOW, so you can bet it would only get worse.

reply

I bet it'd be Texas.

Trump is calling for a temporary ban on immigration from countries that would love nothing more than to see the Western World burn to the ground, I don't see a problem with that.

The world is built by killers, so you better get used to looking at them.

reply

He is talking about ALL Muslims.

All Muslims would not love nothing more than to see the Western World burn to the ground.

Most of the places where people do it is because their ignorant mobs are shouting out what their ignorant leaders are telling them as well.

reply

To answer your question. You were watching a drama and no cartoon.

If someone 11th down the line, who was just fired became president-I would not be surprised if there was more chaos among the state governments than just the Michigan scenario. Those who are elected to Congress, etc can't even agree to pass needed legislature because they're too intent upon "not agreeing" with their opponents. So now put all our governors in the situation from this series. There are maybe a couple that would do the "right thing". You can't honestly believe that there wouldn't be some idiot, if not more, who wouldn't try to do what Gov. Royce did?

Do you really believe that people wouldn't start attacking those who "looked" the same as the supposed perpetrators? All you have to do is look at all the protests & those who attend the protests just to cause chaos. I live in suburb outside of Milwaukee. Try telling those whose businesses were burned down by people who didn't even live in the area, but thought it would be "fun" to cause more trouble during the protests. There are far too many people in the world, in the U.S., who could care less about another human being. If all of Congress, the President etc would killed-all he** would break loose.

reply

Exactly. Just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it can't.

If you buy into the main premise--that terrorists hit the capital during the State of the Union address thus leaving the HUD Secretary as Acting President--then why is it so hard to buy into a story line where angry citizens and cops go after scapegoats with the governor's blessing?

I look at how divided, frustrated, and seething this country is now, and it seems plausible that a stressful event would cause lids to blow.

Looks like we need Tom Chandler and the Nathan James to help out.
