Kal Penn played a muslim sleeper terrorist on 24.

It's ironic that he played a stereotypical muslim terrorist on 24, and now he is playing a character who is being stereotyped as a muslim terrorist on another Kiefer Sutherland political thriller. Or maybe I don't know what ironic means. I know it's like rain on your wedding day.

An awesome twist would be if Kal Penn turns out to really be a sleeper muslim terrorist who helped mastermind the bombing. It turns out Governor Royce's tactics were the right call after all.

He also (in real life) worked in President Obama's White House.

He also (on film as Harold's friend Kumar) smoked a lot of pot.

Maybe it turns out that he faked his suicide in House in order to take the DC gig.

I would believe that Kal reached a place that he wouldn't take such a divisive role. Also, I don't want to believe that this series will go that route.

Rather, it will be probably a complex conspiracy, because that would give them 3-5 seasons with 13 episodes each, to unfold it completely.

I think he took the job because he is really interested in politics. That's why he worked for Obama. In fact he more or less quit acting for while, but maybe this role was enticing to him.

ABC just picked DS up for 22 episodes.

LOL. I think YOUR definition of "ironic" was right, as opposed to Morissette's.
