LGTB directors

So far Gus Van Sant and apparently Dee Rees are directing in this. I think it would be great if LGTB directors would helm the episodes.

And I think for a mini that's about gay rights, it would be condescending to consider their sexual orientation over their work as directors. Rees and Van Sant are there because they are interested by the subject and they are talented directors. That's what it should be about, don't you think?

Dustin Lance Black, Dee Rees, and Thomas Schlamme (The West Wing) are directing two episodes each. Gus Van Sandt is directing one.

I just want to point out some hypocrisy here. You seem to only care that there are gay directors directing this series, than you are wanting GOOD directors on this series. This is the problem with people like yourself, you want equality of outcome with unqualified people helming a project than you are making a project successful.

Dustin Lance Black, Dee Rees, Thomas Schlamme, and Gus Van Sandt are far from being "unqualified people" to direct this project. Dee Rees has two Emmy nominations for writing and directing and a Directors Guild of America award for Bessie. Thomas Schlamme won six Emmys. Gus Van Sant has two Academy Award nominations. And Dustin Lance Black has one Academy Award. Schlamme is the only one who is straight.
