She keeps correcting Mom, saying no, its "MISS Leland".
The thing is, it sounds like Mom is saying "Miss", except the caseworker keeps pronouncing it with a "z" at the end. No, its Mizz Leland.
What is that? What's the difference and why is she so quick to correct it? Is this just to show the power dynamic, how quick she is to correct? I'd imagine so, but yeah its bugging me, what's the difference between "Miss" and "Mizz"??

Seems to add another layer to the scenes where she's done that. Mom is worried sick about her son, these visits from the social worker are obviously hard on her, its all very tense...and she's being corrected on terminology in the meantime. Somewhat tersely, I might add. And terminology that has to do with the social worker's own little agenda...which I imagine would have to seem quite...'beside the point' to ol' Mom there, who looked to have a hard time not rolling her eyes the last time it happened lol
