Outstanding

It was outstanding movie. Considering Indian movie it does not have overdose of emotions or patriotism. Director managed to create enough drama to keep interest of audience and make them cry as well.

Must watch.

Definitely want to see this movie. The incident it portrays is absolutely sickening. Terrorism is bad, no matter whom its directed against, but why would Abu Nidal kill a bunch of Indians, to score a point against the US and Israel?

Absolutely senseless and lunatic.

The Western Media did a lousy job in covering the sacrifice of Neerja Bhanot. It barely mentioned it, while focusing on the 'sensation' of India's accusation against Pakistan, i.e that Pakistan badly bungled the whole operation. There's little doubt, that had the sacrificing air hostess been an American or a Britisher, the attention would be squarely on her, instead of the India-Pakistan tangle. Really sickening, fake, mendacious media. A pox on them!

If I remember correctly, the terrorists were mainly trying to target the American passengers, but Neerja and the other flight attendants hid their passports. Neerja did a very brave thing by doing that, and she definitely deserves more attention for her heroism that day.

Good point. This makes Neerja's portrayal in the media all the more tragic. The American passengers owe their lives to (not only) Neerja, but also the other crew who put themselves on the line by not collecting their passports. The American media really is... Just ridiculous.

I'm American and I'm ashamed to admit I totally agree with the statement. Hollywood LOVES movies about the plight of minorities. The catch? A (preferably attractive) white person MUST be at the forefront. Otherwise, there's no interest or financial backing. It's tragic.

Considering American Media's obsession with "tragic" young, attractive girls, I'm surprised they didn't pick up Neerja having a glamorous background with modeling and commercials and divorced... I guess her being Indian and a divorcee by the age of 23 didn't appeal to American Journalism. -_-"

Well I did not follow up the real incident except WikiPedia. This is news that Western media ignored Neerja's bravery. May be that part was not interesting enough compared to India Pakistan conflict.

It's good Neerja movie was made.

Regarding --- but why would Abu Nidal kill a bunch of Indians, to score a point against the US and Israel?

I guess they were panicked and felt death is inevitable in case commando's storm inside aircraft. So what to do, just kill all to took out your anger.

The film had a lot of potential. The plot was good enough to make a gripping and poignant movie. But in the end, it just fell flat - mainly because Sonam Kapoor doesn't know how to act. Also, some of her actions shown were downright stupid. At one point, she just got up to distribute food to the passengers. Aren't you supposed to take permission from the hijackers before you do anything?
