Everyone needs to watch this
I was really moved by this. Well done documentary. I loved being able to see him through the eyes of his family who had never before really thought of him as a hero, but more as a kind of fun and passionate, yet somewhat irresponsible older brother. It's interesting that they never really saw him as the man he had become until after his death. I like that the documentary wasn't overly sappy; it wasn't trying to tell you what to think. Yet just by presenting the straightforward accounts of his fellow photojournalists, fellow hostages, and friends and family you came to understand just how exceptionally compassionate and driven this man was. I'm so glad I got to learn more about him rather than just remembering him from the ISIS video. This was a much needed film and I'm glad it was so well done. One thing I was left wondering about at the end of the film, however, is why exactly the other hostages were released but not James Foley. What, exactly, did their governments provide to the terrorists that the US government did not provide.
