based on the sheriffs response the house burned down cause it wanted attention

The sheriff is kinda (really he is just doing it) blaming the girls who get raped because they want attention and they are culpable. So the other poster is making a play on the things the sheriff said.

I didn't get why they just casually mentioned that? Did someone intentionally burn their house down? Was it an accident? Was anyone home at the time? Were they all ok? That's a pretty major event that needed a bit more explanation.
