How can Wu portray a monk?

Haven't seen this one yet, but I have seen the original one which is pretty good.

I have seen the trailer and gosh! Wu plays the monk!

How can he pull it off? How can the actor carry the weight of this character?

Wu is better off playing a punk, like he did in Mr. Six (Lao Pao). He cannot play the role of a monk! He is the farthest thing from a monk.
