Cabin flashback (spoilers if you haven't watched The Oxbow)

When Garrett is having the flashback to smothering his friend in the cabin, did anyone else notice the door open and shut in the room behind him--like someone was there and then slipped out? I replayed the DVR a couple of times just to be sure I saw what I thought I saw. I think that scene took place in the friend's cabin, but am not positive.

reply

Yes! Thought I was going crazy. And you're right, it was in the friend's cabin.

reply

My DH said it was the dying guy's Ghost leaving the building.
But I did think I saw a shadow somewhere in there, I actually thought someone was walking up behind Garrett.

Well, at least he called and reported it. Even if he hid out in the woods while they took him away.

reply

I think his friends condition just got worse and him being a father figure to garret kimd of showed he hit rock bottom. Because we see him in 2016 and hes now got a hige scruffy beard and seems like a conplete recluse and the mews of his real father dying saved him as now hes got a chance to go back to his family. I think the door was just the wind rattling it.

reply

Was it the wind? Or the soul walking out? Hmm...

reply

I noticed it too. I thought someone came in, but my husband said it was the wind.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog

reply

I did notice that. I thought it was just a mistake or I was seeing things. Now IDK.

reply

I did, and am so glad to see someone else saw it, too! I read a couple recaps, and neither of them mentioned noticing that! I thought perhaps it was the door to the outside of Al's cabin because there was a lot of light when the door was open. I also had the thought that it was a CREW member who got caught in the scene by mistake!!! They didn't print any bloopers for this episode as yet, though.

reply

I definitely think it was a crew member who made a mistake. I rewound it just to make sure that I saw what I thought I saw. I watched the rest of the episode waiting for some explanation but there was none.

reply

I noticed that too, and I thought someone was going to catch Garrett in the act of the mercy killing... but Garrett did not seem to notice. I also thought I saw a shadow move through the door.

It also occured to me that it might have been symbolic of the friend's spirit/soul leaving the room as he died.

reply

I was thinking the same thing, that someone was going to catch him with the pillow over Al's face. However, both cabins seemed pretty isolated, and I wouldn't imagine either of the men got visitors! I definitely saw that shadow move through the door, but you're right, it might have been symbolic of Al's departing soul.

reply

Me too. I thought someone was coming in.

Clark's destiny = Superman, LL &LL.

reply

So glad I wasn't the only one. I played that back a few times to check if someone was there. When no one posted anything about it here, I decided it must have been the wind. But that was weird that it happened right at that moment.

reply

Yep, I saw it too.

My take: there was a "spy" in the cabin who took off.

It all seems pretty convenient.
Garrett finds a mentor who tells him about an abandoned cabin.
A mentor who although he spends only a month in the woods is quite proficient in survival techniques.
Where is he the rest of the year?

And most surprising of all, no property in the US is ever "abandoned" by the IRS.
Taxes have to be paid. The IRS needs their pound of flesh.
So who is paying? Allison should check on that....

And nearly everyone knows where the cabin is: Jack, the gas station owner, Allison, Mommy, who else?......

The Hawthorne lake house does not seem that far away - yet the mentor doesn't know?

So, my one guess (of many wrong ones probably) is that somebody (Mommy?) got that "mentor" to keep tabs on Garrett.

01. Yes, of course I almost saw the complete form of the body, but the Flash was too fast. All I could get was the screen door open and inside door shut.

02. This guy was beyond saving. The Flash must have been off to another crisis.

03. If it was a mistake, I hope IMDB posts what it was.
