I live in the northeast, where the worst I have to deal with are winters of heavy snow, bitterly cold temperatures, and occasional white-out blizzard conditions.
Well, that's pretty dangerous, too, especially having to shovel the roof. Mother Nature challenges human existence pretty much everywhere, except, perhaps, the Riviera, lol.
About my pal, he was more foolish than brave. But I always think of him whenever I watch the movie "Twister" - and that is about as close to a real twister that I ever want to get! I was alive at the time of the Ruskin Heights tornado in 1956(?), outside of Kansas City, and one of my friends was actually in it. I think it was an F4, her family's house was destroyed, but they weren't in it at the time, they were a few miles away and in a safe place.
Yeah, I prefer to study Mother Nature at a distance, too. But I do know what to do when she drops a little extreme weather on my doorstep!
