There used to be another American Gothic TV show years ago.

I was too young to watch it. Was it good? Can I still see it somewhere?

I saw it somewhere when I was looking for an episode of this I missed. It was either Netflix, Hulu or Amazon. I'm debating watching it myself.

that's about some creepy family in some creepy town. I remember Lucas black was in it.

Gary Cole was Sheriff Buck; he was evil. Lucas Black was a boy who had captured Sheriff Buck's interest (no, NOT sexually!), and Sarah Paulson was Lucas Black's sister, whom the sheriff murdered. Paige Turco was in it and so was Jake Weber, who played the town doctor. Brenda Bakke was the schoolteacher and more or less Buck's mistress and Nick Searcy was the deputy. It was an outstanding show. I loved it and was sad when it was non-renewed.

1995 american gothic was one of my fave shows, the acting was superb, gary cole was so menacing that still today he can give me the creeps! lucas black was great and really made the show..."someone's at the door" was drawled so fearfully by his sister played by
sarah paulson.

... at the 1:15 mark in the finale the NEW american gothic virginia madsen said "someone's at the door", i would hope as a nod to the far superior 1995 show (tho they are far removed from each other & frankly this show taints the memory of the 1995 show, in name only).

i would highly recommend to anyone to find the 1995 american gothic & stream the whole one & only season that it aired :-D (dumb cbs).

ok... to be fair, i just finished finale (2016) & wrapped up pretty nicely...
