While this is not going to go down in TV history as one of the more memorable shows, lines like the one in the titles make it worth watching for me.
Or this one "That is potpourri, Dear" - "Oh did you want some" (the girl replies while munching on some :-) )
Maybe I'm just easily entertained but I like it! Plus, I was a teenager in the 80s and while I think the music and fashion were mostly appalling, it'll still be fun for me to reminisce!!

Like any decade there was good and bad fashion, The 80's had some alright/good and some awful music and fashion not mostly as that is not true at all
As for the music come on now there were load of good music, from likes of Depeche Mode, U2, The Cure, Echo + the Bunnymen, Big Country,
Style Council, Pet Shop Boys, The Smiths, The Housemartins, The Cult, Billy Idol, Suzanne Vega, Mike Oldfield, Tears for Fears, Simple Minds, Prince, MJ, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Duran Duran, Madness, Billy Bragg, Dexy's Midnight Runners, Dire Straits,Madness, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Talking Heads, Jesus + Marychain, INXS, R.E.M, Bon Jovi, Bryan Ferry, Robert Palmer, Crowded House, The Pretenders, etc etc
As for clothes some people wore the out there crazy clothes and then some people wore normal clothes like logo-Tshirts, or just different colour T-shirts blue/black jeans, Blue, Black, Red Blue Adidas/Reebok trainers or Black Shoes,
Or wear stuff from Ben Sherman, Lacoste, Armani, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, Ted Baker, Smart Suites, etc etc
You're right, there was a lot of good music as well as a lot of crap.
As for fashion, however, it was the most dreadful decade ever. That and hairstyles - appalling!!!
I disagree there- I think the 70's was the worst in general with flower/brown, and green and yellow tops and trousers and afro and beehive, hair style with rollers in the hair that is appalling etc etc
As for 80's hair As for hair some people had weird + mullet hair, Others didn't like Paul Weller, Billy Idol, Suzanne Vega, Depeche Mode, Phoebe Cates, Martika, River Phoenix, Matt Dillon, Pet Shop Boys, Paul Young, Madness, Matt Dillon, Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen, Matthew Broderick, Christian Slater, The Housemartins, Status Quo, Suzanne Vega, Chris Rea, The Police, Belinda Carlisle, Miami Vice, 3 members of Frankie goes to Hollywood, Bruce Springsteen, Val Kilmer, Robert Downey JR, Alley Sheedy, Robert Palmer, Run D.M.C, Beastie Boys, Jerry O' Connell, etc etc etc etc had normal style hair
My dad had a skin head and my mum just had normal long brown hair amongst other people I knew
As I was growing up I so saw people with bad hairstyles and some with alright/good ones again mixed bag
As for fashion I gave you examples in that list of those as well that were alright/good and then there were other ones that were bad with the ultra neon clothing and leg warmers etc again mixed bag
You must live in a much more stylish area, then, as I was a teenager in the 80ies and everyone was looking ATROCIOUS LOL. also, no chance of affording any of those brands you listed - my parents would have laughed in my face :-)
I CRINGE when I see photos of myself (and my friends) from that area.
See, I love flowers and bell bottoms and all of that stuff! I would have made a great hippie; alas, I was too young back then :-)
No not really just lived in a standard area in the UK in Kent -Where are you from?
Also them clothes like Armani, Lacoste, etc I mean my cousin wasn't rich but he saved up his money from work and bought stuff from those brands
I also said about logo tops - like 7up with Levi Jeans and Black/Blue Adidas/Reebok trainers- They weren't cheap cheap but affordable non the less-Trainers I mean
Surly there are some pics from 1980-89 you do like I find it hard to believe you wore all the crazy looking clothes lol
I gave you example of bands/solo artists and actors/actresses from UK, U.S, Australia, Germany, etc that had good hair styles and clothing
Surly your parents could of saved up and got you a top fro them brands I said as they went down in price by 1984 as they would make other classy designs
My dad laughs at the 70's fashion but still has a leather jacket and a normal one top he has from 80's- He said to my nephew other day the 80's had some good fashion but also had crazy fashion
