Racial Differences


Given the racial differences on SAT results (Asians top, whites, hispanics, then finally Blacks), the results of the "thinning" would be horrific.

I really wondered about this - and about how they applied the Thinning across the board.
Surely it is not 5% at each school - as that would penalise stronger schools.
Surely it should be 5% across the country (as its a UN mandated thing that each country signed off on).
That would mean that some schools in high socio-economic areas would probably lose very few, and some schools would be heavily impacted.
And, based on current levels, many of the culled would be blacks and other disadvantaged groups.
Of course, many of them would get weeded out in early schooling so many high schools would have few lower socio-economic students left.
Also, 5% per year would have a big impact in countries where natural growth rates are low.
