about the ending (SPOILERS)

i'm not sure, but i think he kills himself. that last scene, when he's standing there, breathing so heavily looks very much like someone trying to psyche themselves up, trying to muster up the courage to do something. but what clinched the suicide thought for me was that very very last image before the screen goes blank.....the light on the traffic signal was green. IOW: he was facing left & the traffic light was facing his right side, which means he walked out into oncoming traffic....i think that's why the screen went black for several moments before the credits started to roll.

...but that's just a theory, of course.
