Was it filmed in Paterson?
Just wondering if Jim will be able to capture the pure slum like *beep* of that God Awful city.

If it wasn't for Paterson where would all the Heroin addicts who live in the outlying suburbs go to get their fix??
sharenewark??
shareTHEY WOULD GO BACK HOME TO SUBURBS OF HAWTHORNE, ELMWOOD PARK AND FAIRLAWN. WHERE ELSE WOULD WHITEY GO TO HIDE?
shareYeah, you're damn right I am hiding from Paterson. I know the city well, and it is nothing but a slum. I never said anything about its residents. There are however some, I mean some areas that aren't that bad. But, I for one would never live there. Sorry, if I offended you. Do not take it personally.

Thank you for your ignorance of a city you probably don't live in. All Patersonians are not "God Awful". Some of us actually work and are law abiding. Before you speak of us again SHUT YOUR F*&%ING MOUTH, ASSHAT!!!
"No, really. That's very interesting. -_- Please go on."
He did not say "all patersonians are god awful" he said the city is " god awful" which it is! i live 30 mins away an wouldn't go back anywhere near that shXthole if you paid me.
shareMaybe the city LOOKs like a slum cause the people there are the slums. Born and raised there for 47 of my 72 years, it was a good town with all kinds of people races, creeds etc. The politicians and the people make it a slum. I have fond remembrances of my youth, friends I grew up there with. Sad to say most of America's cities are now "slums". I look forward to seeing the film and recognizing what is now unrecognizable.
shareYour misguided rage is helping to prove his point.
shareI just saw the film. I don't know Paterson but it certainly looked like it was filmed there. There are numerous scenes of the driving bus 29 down a major street (with Rent-a-center and other store fronts visible). He also visits the water/fall a few times.
As a result of this film the city had better get ready for some poet tourists.
In "Filming Locations," Paterson is listed as the one and only.
shareI work in the garage they filmed the movie in. The bus in the movie was going up and down Market St. I'm a bus driver out of that garage and I've never seen so many white people like they show in the movie before in Paterson. The garage is locatec at 16 market st in paterson.

At American Film Festival which takes place in Wroclaw, Poland, after the screening of "Paterson" we had a meeting with Joshua Astrachan, who is a producer of this film. He stayed after for a few questions and one of them was about locations. He said they shot for six days only in Paterson, but most of the film was made outside of it, because of the tax issue. As it was an indie production, it was cheaper for them to do so. The streets are real, the waterfall is real, bus depot as it was mentioned already in this topic and few other things. But like he said, most of the film wasn't shot in Paterson.
shareGood to know, thanks :)
