shareI've always been baffled about how people could fall into one of these "groups/cults" as well. It's also surprising to know that many individuals who become "members" are often very intelligent, meaning they have a higher than average IQ.
The common thread usually is the need to "belong" somewhere and have the acceptance of others. I really hope that more studies are done and that this subject is closely examined further in the future. There is still a great deal of information needed to understand cult like groups.
