Do Americans really think everything was achieved with blood and lies?

Is this because the concept of getting something done with talent and hard work and knowing how to time your sales pitches the right way is a concept so far out, that surely, if someone made it anywhere, they did it by abuse, killing, screaming and selling their souls? Sometimes art is just art, I'm afraid. No drama. But who would watch that, right?
