How annoying is Nicole?

Constantly yelling, singing, and making weird faces, she's the stereotypical overacting American reality show contestant.

A little of that goes a long way but she's also pretty funny at times. I don't mind her quirkiness but I hope she plays it straight during the final 3 bakes.

That's a description of my family. What's wrong with that?😁
Minus the contestant part that is.

I like her. She seems like real people. I was hoping she'd do better in the finale.

She actually did okay in the finale, better than I thought she'd do. Her sweet potato pie was clearly the winner in the Signature Bake and even though her candy cane bread didn't win her any praise, the judges seemed to love her Showstopper cake, especially that swirly bottom layer. I actually thought she was going to pull out the win. I was hoping that she'd tone down her joking personality in the finale and just concentrate on baking but it's obviously in her nature to be like that and it works for her so it's good that she didn't try to be someone else at the end. I enjoyed her for the most part but I liked all of the bakers.

I have a feeling that the people responsible for putting this show together gave the bakers strict instructions to behave and act like the bakers do on the British version. The only way I knew I WASN"T watching the British version of the show was the American accents of the bakers, the hosts, and one of the judges... everything else was a duplicate of the British version, which was a good thing. I still prefer the British version but this was an acceptable "cousin" of the original, especially since it was only 4 weeks. I'm just anxious to see another season of the Great British Bake-Off (or Great British Baking Show, as it's called on PBS for some reason).

I'm looking forward to more of GBBS too. I saw in a post somewhere that in the U.S. they cannot use the term "bake-off" in the name because of copyright infringement. (Pillsbury Bake-Off? - something like that.)

While I'm not crazy about decorations on food that have been shaped and assembled by hand (like little animals, trees, shapes made out of fondant), the Showstopper Christmas present cakes looked great. I wish I had some of the swirly peppermint cake right now. :)

I wasn't aware of the copyright infringement but that makes sense... thanks for the info.

I agree that the swirly peppermint looked really good (what a great technique) and I bet it tasted just as good!

She was cringeworthy and put pumkin in just about everything she made.
