It's back

Dumbed down version of a great show.
Contestants mugging for the camera like super-sized theater kids.

So very true! and with all the commercials, there's so little content, and a lot of useless yakking. I want to see less of Nia, et al chatting them up, and more of them doing their tasks.

This is a sign of the British show to come -- since it jumped over to channel 4 from the BBC.

Give it a chance. The first episode they have to introduce all the bakers and their families. I like the hosts and the judges. I'm glad Paul Hollywood isn't there. His smugness makes me want to punch him in the face. The one thing I don't like is how the same people keep popping up on these tyoes of shows. I know I've seen Nancy before. I think she was on Food Network's Holiday Baking Championship but I could be mistaken. I know I've seen her on something.

The first episode was two episodes. there have already been two eliminations, and one woman had a family emergency so she had to leave.

It's going to be a typical American 45 minute commercial interrupted by 15 minutes of cooking time.

Even the format on CHOPPED has changed dramatically -- showing us less and less of the cooking, and more sob stories; along with less discussion among the judges.

They actually did show less of Nia & Ian in these two episodes. What they did do is put more of Mary & Johnny in between segments discussing each part. Unless they completely flip flop by the end of each show for no reason, I don't think we need to see that. We're smart enough to know when they do the first & second segments, the judges like this one or do not like that one. Either that, or get rid of the commercials😀. But then they couldn't pay for the show.

I didn't know this was a second season. I thought this was a rework of the Jeff Foxworthy version who in my opinion carried his better.
