These bakers are way too full of themselves

Actually, baking is pretty complicated chemistry, and can be a real art form. I'm a pretty fair baker, and people like what I make, but I'm in awe of some of the creations the contestants produce. If you think of food as more than fuel, this show is enjoyable. What I like about this, and the original British series, is that the baked goods are meant to be eaten, and are not just construction projects.

Full of themselves??? If you were talking Top Chef people, yes. But these people, not sure where you get that from. BTW I am a professional baker, so it's called my job & life. So yea it does matter.

Food can be an art, but unlike art and architecture, these creations have to have more to them. Taste as well as beauty.

And, yes, food does matter! We need it to live!
