The Japanese Watanabe family serve as a Google

They pretty much know the answer to every technical/scientific question they are asked, and up to the episode 8 that I've watched (still haven't seen 9 and 10), they're just that - an expository search engine. So, when they are driving through a dangerous geyser field, the Watanabe daughter gives all the trivia on geysers; Mr. Watanabe and his wife answer just about every question about locations, tech specs, cargo weight etc. they are asked; And so on. That's so stereotypical. I guess the writers thought that, since they're Japanese (or Asian in general), they ought to be nerdy and knowledgeable of everything, right?
