Diversity: When a caucasion man and woman can give birth to a black daughter and anyone who notices is labelled a racist

21st century television is simply astounding right now.

You could be minding your own business and planning to sit down to watch a sci-fi show you thought might be entertaining and then suddenly you find yourself being labelled a bigoted racist just because you dared to comment on the obvious flaws of producers making casting choices according to diversity quotas and completely ignoring the obvious questions that will be raised...

Did you watch the show?

reply

is this show worth a watch?

reply

I don't know what your tastes are, but it's not the worst show out there. I was simply asking because SpiderPig would have their answer if they watched the show.

reply

i refuse to watch this program

reply

Show was surprisingly good. Normally I hate reboots, but it differs enough from the original to be interesting. The characters are well written and most of the acting was good.

reply

Agreed...

Haters gonna hate.

reply

Not only haters: normal people hate, and love, and dismiss, and like and dislike.

Normal people are not afraid of having emotions.

reply

Why do you refuse?

reply

because molly parker always plays a bitch

Diversity: When a caucasion man and woman ...

@SpiderPig, I was going to ask "Are you proud to be a caucasian?" But wait, caucasian? That must be wrong. Let's invent a word "caucasion". Yeah, that's more like it.

reply

its "caucazoid"

reply

There is no flaw. Judy was obviously adopted.

reply

No, I think Judy is meant to be the child of Maureen's first marriage (and/or a previous relationship)...and John has adopted and raised her. That's why john and Judy are so close..He raised her as his own.

reply

Stop seeing the color of skin everywhere and judging people based on that. Jeez what a racist

reply

That's the reason a POC was cast in that particular role. If the person who pointed it out is a racist then the people who made the show are also racist. The people who host the show on their servers are also racist.

Your logic is sound but I'm sure that you will only call the OP racist and not the other guilty parties. WHY NOT?

PS. I do like this show.

reply

Well, Imho you are the racist ...

reply

If you had watched the series all the way through you would know that John Robinson is not (by his own words) Judy's biological father.

reply

Judy tells us in ep5 that she was from before John.

I recall when Dear W**** People came out. I checked out the entire board of Netflix. WHITE. WHITE. WHITE. No black people. No brown people. Almost no asians, I think ONE. LOL.

Reminds me of Oprah, after reading,/viewing her saying racist shit about white people I checked her out. LOL. She did a photo shoot with her core team of about 20 to 25 people. Every. Single. One. Was. White. This was posted on reddit and someone joked about the two dogs who were also in the picture saying, "even the dogs are white". They were white dogs.
Hilarious. Oprah hates whitey, but only hires whitey. Reed Hastings hates whitey but only hires whitey. LOL. F'n racist freaks.

reply

I agree.

And people are saying, “well they mention later that Judy was adopted.”

But why was that angle inserted into the show? Why write a child from another marriage into the family? What did it add? And then why was it necessary to make this child black, in a family full of whites?

The writers were itching to meet diversity quotas that they randomly put an African daughter in a family filled with whites.

reply

I mean, why not? She’s adopted, not too difficult I imagine. Don’t get distracted by this shit man. The show is ok either way.
