Dr. Smith's objective

Is it just me that doesn't understand what she's trying to accomplish? Does she have an objective or does she just "want to see the world burn"?

To me, what she's trying to accomplish is survival by manipulation. She's apparently done that all of her life and is quite good at it.

reply

She didn't want to be sent back to a dying Earth.

Should have shown her the airlock, and told her it was the pantry. No room for traitors in space.

reply

Some of that and some of the fact she is trapped.

She keeps saying that she just wants to be left alone and can't achieve that and it is making her more and more hateful.

In the original show Dr Smith appeared to be some kind of spy. He was ultra selfish and as tie went on the family was some nice to him, especially the mom and kids, that is cured him. I would like to see that happen here, but they aren't setting it up much.

reply

I wish when they get space borne again that she gets chucked out of airlock.

She's the sort of person who's good at looking out for number one on a situation by situation basis, but has never gotten her life together and doesn't have a long term plan. We saw how she was repeatedly borrowing money from family. If you've ever had that cousin or uncle who was always in trouble with the law for petty crimes, or had a compulsive gambling habit, you know the type.

reply

Like Severus Snape, she is a complicated person.
