Loved it, and questions *Spoilers*

If you've only watched half an episode and turned it off, or you haven't finished the season, this thread is not for you.

I thought this was spectacular storytelling. If you enjoy the original series, or if you've never seen it, it could be for you if you just open yourself up to enjoying things. If you have a cold heart and don't want to like it, then don't like it, but go away.
I have a question for those who have watched through to the end of final episode "Danger, Will Robinson." Near the end a harpoon cable needs to be extended to save John and Don as they float in orbit. We come to find out that it was Dr. Smith who extended the cable, and her reasons for doing so are difficult to discern, made intentionally ambiguous. What I am curious about, is how did Dr. Smith end up locked in the airlock? Did she put herself there? Why would she do that? Does she just want to belong? Had she realized she lost control of Robot? What do you think?

I feel like not spelling everything out is a strength of this show, and if Dr. Smith's reasons were made explicit, I wouldn't have liked it as much. I'm just curious on movie chatters' theories about why she did what she did, and how she ended up in the airlock?
Again, if you don't like this show, go chat about something you do like.

Pretty sure Maureen locked her up as soon as the kid and dad was in the clear.
Personally, I would have spaced that bitch after she sent the Robot to kill the kids and the family.
Power hungry, ego-maniacal, remorseless whore. Fuck that bitch!!!

Are we just supposed to accept that Maureen could take Smith? I mean, I do, but it seems weird, like I'd have to watch it again, but one second she's at the helm, the next she's locked up after a lot of things were keeping Maureen occupied. John didn't do it, because he seemed surprised Maureen hadn't extended to cable. Then Maureen seemed surprised that the cable was extended a second time at all. It all seems strange, but I have to watch again to be sure, or perhaps continue to be unsure.

I have been a fan of Lost in Space since it first aired in the sixties and I feel this is an excellent remake. Lost in Space rules!!!

I can't wait for season 2, but it's so far away. They have it set up perfectly in line with the series for the next phase. All the right people are on board. The major issue with Netflix is I usually like their originals so much that I blow through them so quickly and then I'm waiting for the next thing. I have yo wait about 2 more months for Ozark season 2. Just binged Glow season 2.
