Elizabeth

I almost entitled this "Jane Austen Flipping In Her Grave", but this is only a TV movie. I enjoyed it for the charming dogs and for Mr. Darcy (thank you, Colin Firth, for making it OK for Darcy to go shirtless!) Elizabeth Bennett, Austen's heroine, was opinionated and self-assured, but she also managed to laugh at herself and to rise above the crass behavior of her family. This Liz had her redeeming features, but it was hard to accept her flippant chatter aimed at Darcy as he judged her dog at the dog show. Also...did anyone else expect someone in the audience to ask Liz & Co to SHUT UP as they chattered on in normal voices during the judging?

All that being said, I did enjoy the movie overall and have been online today trying to figure out how I can afford a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. Just don't tell my cats I'm looking into this.

It's always better to give a home to one in need than to support puppy mills. All are great but there are plenty of pure breds which need homes if you have a particular breed in mind.

There are many purebreds in breed-specific rescues available if you look. Pups too.

I agree with icingonthe cake.
Mine are all rescues and are beautiful.

A good friend of mine bought a King Charles cavalier from a breeder and paid a fortune for it. Before the pup was a year old, they realized she had issues that the vet said was from inbreeding. She can't jump up steps or anything without her legs coming out of the socket/dislocated.

I think Elizabeth is just plain rude!
