Worst film of the year?

Vile, sickening attempt at art-house horror. Feels interminable at 75 minutes long, nothing is developed - we're just trapped with awful people, and there's no redeeming elements to the whole thing (no, not even B&W).

You're waiting for a train...

Awful people? What did the little boy ever do to you? Or the Asian chick?

reply

Disagree.

We're not speaking about a life-changing film, of course, but I think the film had something to say about family and how growing up in a bad/oppressive environment breeds further oppression/evil.

I think whether this film is to your taste depends on your feelings on most films of this type, but I thought it was quite effective in what it set out to do.

I gave it a 6/10. So yeah, it's hardly a classic, but I thought what it did, it did well, and the way it was shot 'black & white, moody, with dark run-down surroundings' helped its cause too.
