Netflix

This is being distributed by Netflix, but it is not available to stream. Does anyone know when it will be released on Netflix Instant?

It is now streaming on Netflix. I was very impressed with the performance of Sonia Braga, who is in nearly every scene after the prologue. The film cast a critical eye at the unscrupulous developers, yet Clara questions her own privilege and entitlement. There is more than social consciousness on Filho's mind. Generational ties and frictions, as well as the subtle shifting from late-middle age to the later chapters of a life are handled deftly, always avoiding melodrama. While the conclusion felt a bit rushed, the final image is certainly apt, given the insatiable greed of the developers.

It is unfortunate that some can't see past the justified (from what I have read) protest at Cannes. Whatever one's views of current events in Brazil, the film stands on its own. Sonia Braga is a revelation. Highly recommended.
