So call me crazy but what happened to gift #9? The list I got was:

#2 - take a carriage ride
#3 - picture with Santa
#4 - soup kitchen
#5 - snow angels
#6 - toboggan ride
#7 - christmas movies
#8 - singing carols
#9 - ??
#10 - snowball fight
#11 - the bike
#12 - christmas star
So what did I miss?
When Maggie writes her final article about the Secret Santa, she says she was one gift short. Mitch sends her a package and says the final gift was the gift of Christmas.

shareIt does appear that they missed one. I thought the newspaper article itself was gift #11 (she gave him her heart - the best she could do) and the bike was #12. Mitch's gift of the star ornament was a reciprocation and not part of the 12.
