Same here. I can't believe it actually has a release date... What was it - 2-3 years ago the first teaser came out?

reply

Looks like massive propaganda, based on total bs propaganda that was completely made up.

I mean the guy on the poster even looks like he is holding a hammer...!

Quote me: It's going to be HORRIFIC. Like beyond the pale bad.

reply

No propaganda in movie. Just 2 hour war.
Tomorrow start in Russia.

reply

Yeah. Well GL with no propaganda.

Why is the government telling the Russian archivists that know the truth of this stupid propaganda piece to STFU, if it isn't propaganda?

reply

Just look movie. It is much better then your trash talk.

reply

Than, not then. Ignoramus.

Grammar nazi.

Its based on true events, and there are always legends surrounding great battles, heroising historical figures and soldiers who fought in them. It always happens and its nothing new (i.e. the battle of Thermopylae, Waterloo, Alamo etc). It happened in my country too with the battle of the Dukla Pass. And noone is as good as selling legends surrounding true events as USA. Think about Schindlers List, Saving Private Ryan, Pearl Harbor for fxxks sake and so on and on... How is the nature of this war drama different? Its exactly the same thing, just from another perspective.

Nice edit on your post so that the context of my being a grammar 'Nazi' was lost.

If I recall you called me 'ignorant', in the same post that you demonstrated your ignorance of very basic spelling (not grammar). Clearly you are also ignorant of the definition of grammar, because spelling is not.

As for your point about glorification, propaganda, and the mythicization of historic events:

I do not recall when Saving Private Ryan, or Schindler's List, or Pearl Harbor (or any other similar film) was released and critics were understandably outspoken about the inherent BS (particularly Pearl Harbor), that high ranking US government officials went after their own historians when they pointed out the entire thing was BS...

This happened in Russia.

Can you see the distinction? Try stretching your little mind and you might see the difference.

Why would that happen in Russia, but not America? What is the difference of climate in those two countries where someone like yourself is so obviously desperate to defend the existence of a film that sets out to reinforce mythology, rather than question it.

Particularly in a country where high ranking politicians have attacked public figures for treason (much as has happened to the achivists that know this is BS), and those public persons have ended up being assassinated and all the cameras at the Kremlin are mysteriously not working at the time.

I can't recall any Americans speaking out about the BS of in the films you list being a) categorized as 'scum' by the government, nor being silenced for fear of some friend of Putin putting a bullet in them.

And these weren't even persistent and existing myths perpetuated or enshrined by the government.

There's another example of your failed, or non-existent logic.

Clint Eastwood demolished a myth that had persisted from WW2 with Flags of Our Fathers. But you prefer to pretend that never happened, no such film exists. Instead you go to Pearl Harbour of all films. A film no one takes seriously, or believes is based on real persons. This is not the case with this film. These message boards prove how ignorant of the facts so many clearly are, and how keen they are to defend the promotion of myth.

You fail. I've explained why.

Now American Sniper - that is a good example of a BS piece of propaganda. And I have already said my piece about that film. On here and elsewhere. But thankfully, at least in the West, I can say what a load of BS it is without a post-Soviet crackdown happening, or my being shot outside the Kremlin.

Yay.

In fact, this movie has considerably less propaganda in it, than infamous 'Fury', 'Private Ryan', etc, etc, countless other Hollywood flicks on WWII. Just try to watch it unbiased and remember never to judge a book by its cover.

When will this be available in the U.Know. and U.S.?

reply

Good morning . I was always keen on Ww2 , what you call the Great Patriotic War that got rid of the nazis. My grandfather and his brother were despite of us and died in Russia .
I wonder if the film will be distributed in France or if I could order one DVD or blu ray with French language or sub titles

Best regards

Blu-Rays and DVD's will come out after January 27, 2018. The languages it will be translated to... unknown (at least I didn't find any info on that).
But, hey - it's a globalized world - I'm sure it will get translated eventually (amateur or professional) into all the main languages (English, French, Spanish).

Already on ozon.ru. But subtitles not mentioned.
