He's one lucky little Hobbit.

Laura Aikman is definitely one of my TV crushes. I just wrote about this in my review for the episode, she's great.

As you were so kind to reply to me Bobbcobb, I thought I'd drop you a line in this post rather than reply to each episode discussion. Here’s my take on Josh, the TV show, not him personally.

I stumbled across the show on iPlayer as it’s my kind of go-to channel for when I want something in the background. My iPad spends a lot of time on my toilet seat lid while I’m in the shower or on the kitchen window sill while I’m making tea and I only ever play the comedy section. While it used to be Dad’s Army, I then stumbled onto Live At The Apollo and later Mock The Week. I found Josh, the person this time, to be quite humorous without resorting to effing and blinding so I thought I’d give his show I try.
Whilst I did not find it hilariously funny, it was a constant “grin provider” and by the time I had waded through series one, I found myself repeating them over and over and very rarely going back to the other comedy I had been so fond of. By the time I’d done series one to death, episode 1 series two was in comedy highlights!

Now don’t get me wrong, I really like this but I do take it for what it is. You know Josh and co are going to constantly refer back to his comedy style of “What is this ……….”, “I’m not ……..”, “This isn’t the …….” Etc etc but it works for me. My most watched ones are Share and Share Alike and obviously Sex and Politics but that is the influence of the stunning Laura methinks.

Whereas I thought that the first series had a weak episode or two, I thought that all the episodes in series two were better written with only week elements. Case in point, Planks and Pranks. I thought the Pirate Pete and him getting reception and Josh’s text coming through were great, but the whole prank thing got tiring very quickly with the exception of Geoff’s shoes on the ceiling. Again, the final episode had a few chuckles but had moments of weakness as well.

So personally speaking, I am very pleased that a third series has been commissioned but absolutely gutted that series one has now disappeared off the iPlayer!!! I gave the whole thing an 8. If you see my other scores, you’ll see I’m not after side splitting comedy 24/7 nor do I want Oscar material in every film I watch, I just want entertainment on my level which is why Josh does it for me.
