On the run from vampires and being hunted by one...

...let's spend the night in a cabin, use a map to plot our course, DRAW the course on the map AND THEN leave the map behind in clear view for said hunter to find it. Genius! Pure genius!

reply

Wait, wasn't that done on purpose because Mohammed turned out to be working for Dmitri after all? Admittedly, I wasn't fully engaged in the episode so I may have missed something. Who drew the course on the map?

Except Mohammed said Sam didn't know the location of the shack. They wouldn't have expected him to find them. But I will agree...the obvious nature of that writing on the map was a little too obvious. Didn't really need it. He tracked them that far, not hard to assume he could track them to that horse farm even without the map.

But the map wasn't for Sam to find. It was for Dmitri, right? Or do you think Mohammed wasn't always trying to get Vanessa to the vampires? Again, I wasn't paying very close attention, so I could be off base.

I thought Mohammed had always wanted to hand her over to Dimitri. He mentioned several times wanting to get her on the road to look for his sister. He stared at that picture of her when they were split up. And even Sam said "tell her the truth" before they left him for dead in the woods. I think he knew that Mo planned to betray her.

Yes, that was also my conclusion.

I must have missed it where Mohammed left it behind intentionally and Vanessa did not observe it. Wouldn't you want to bring the maps with you? In other words, wouldn't Vanessa eventually ask possibly "hey Mohammed can I see that map?"

reply

Honestly, I have no idea. I definitely started to tune out the show during those scenes. Vanessa and Mohammed don't rank amongst my favorite characters so I dropped the ball on paying attention this episode for most of it. That ending, though, will cause me to give the episode (perhaps all the previous episodes too) another look. This show has been a pleasant surprise as I never anticipated it being this unpredictable.

It was mounted on a desktop, not transportable, I believe.

I quite enjoyed it, nice escapism, which is all I ask for. Nice eye candy too, with Jonathan Scarfe aboard.

Correct it was laminated to the desk in the ranger station.
