Why so many betrayals

Just finished the finale. I really wanted to see the show, being fan of the van helsing character and all. But I cant understand why there have to be so many betrayals. Practically in every episode someone betrays someone. or multiple times in the same episode. i understand one or two or three, oK, but in every *beep* episode? How the hell should we care or root for one character when the same one is going to betray in the next five minutes.

Well, that being said, I dont care if they make one more season or 300, I am done watching this piece of pure crap.

It was pretty hilarious that Doc went back to save that guy, claiming that she couldn't bear the guilt of closing the door on a soldier in the past, only to betray Axel by closing the door on him.

Way to go, Doc!

The writers want the audience to dislike the characters, apparently. :)
