Spoiler. I Hated

I hated the ending. It wrecked the whole film IMO. Even though the movie is very slow I still was intrigued by Cranston's character and the story. If anyone else was playing the role I might not have even bothered watching it or would have stopped watching after a half hour.

I hate these completely open endings. The reason I kept watching was to see how he explains his absence and to see if they stay together. What a waste of almost 2 hours. A decent ending would have made all the difference.

I agree. I was actually pretty riveted up until the end. I wanted to see their real reactions.

First thing I said when it ended, was What a cop out. I get the open ending thing, but explaining his absence and seeing the repercussions would have made it a fine film. They cheated the viewers and cheated themselves, by the way people have commented on the ending. A shame for the fine cast of actors.

Although she was back with Dirk.. He witnessed her having a phone call with Dirk, and said to himself, theres the butterflies in the stomach feeling, etc.. so maybe she will toss him to the curb saloon style for pulling the number that he pulled.

Life is like that ... no real endings, no closure, no answers?
Weird movie.

Nonsense. There are real endings, closure and answers in many aspects of "life", just as there would be the same in this story, in real life. They just chose not to show them. Bad decision, IMHO.
