Why is it called Wakefield?

Is it set in Wakefield (Yorkshire)? Cos why would someone set a movie in Wakefield unless it was based on a true story? So I doubt that it is set in Wakefield. Does anyone know the reason behind the title?

It is based on a short story by Nathanial Hawthorne (well, technically it's based on a short story by E.L. Doctorow, which is just a retelling of Hawthorne's story).

I just read both stories.

Sounds like Mr. Wakefield finds himself in a spot of grand depression. Should be an interesting character piece from Cranston.
